2. Overview

This website is a portfolio built with the content management system Kirby. It has no contact form, no user accounts, no newsletter, no comments, no analytics or tracking tools and no advertising. All fonts, scripts and images are loaded from our own server; no content from third parties (such as videos, maps or external fonts) is embedded.

3. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by an external hosting provider who processes data on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR). Each time you visit the website, your browser automatically transmits information that is stored in server log files:

  • IP address
  • date and time of the request
  • page requested
  • website from which you came (referrer URL)
  • browser type and version
  • operating system

This data is required to deliver the website and to ensure its stability and security. It is not combined with other data sources. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in the secure and error-free operation of the website. The log files are deleted after seven days at the latest, unless further storage is necessary to investigate a specific security incident.

4. Cookies

The public website does not set any cookies and does not store any information in your browser.

Only the non-public editing area (Kirby Panel) uses a technically necessary session cookie after login. This concerns only the editors of this website, not visitors. The legal basis is § 25 (2) TDDDG and Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

5. Contact by email

If you contact us by email, we process your email address and the content of your message in order to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR if your request relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures, otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in responding to your request. We delete the data once your request has been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

6. Links to other websites and Instagram

This website contains plain links to the websites presented here and to our Instagram profile. No data is transmitted to these services when you visit our website. Only when you click a link are you forwarded to the respective service, whose own privacy policy then applies.

When you visit our Instagram profile, your data is processed by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, D04 X2K5, Ireland. Insofar as Meta provides us with statistics about our profile (Insights), we are jointly responsible with Meta (Art. 26 GDPR); the agreement is available at https://www.facebook.com/legal/terms/page_controller_addendum. Data may also be processed by Meta Platforms, Inc. in the United States. Further information can be found in Instagram's privacy policy: https://privacycenter.instagram.com/policy

7. Link previews

The website contains meta tags (Open Graph) that allow a title, description and image to be displayed when a link to this website is shared, for example in messengers or on social networks. To do this, the respective platform retrieves this information from our server. The tags themselves do not transmit any data about visitors.

8. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • information about the data we process about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • correction of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • object to processing based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR)

To exercise these rights, simply send an email to mail@juliuskuehn.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Der Hamburgische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit).

9. Changes

We will update this privacy policy if the website or the legal situation changes.
